This playful, feminine, light piece is ideal for those who are not into heavy jewellery but still love to accessorize casually. Unique charms complete the silver coloured plastic beads, the colorful graphics have a Brazilian marfim wood base and protective wax coating. Though the iconic statement jewellery Frida used to wear nowadays would mostly be considered elegant, evening pieces, this bracelet is both suitable for the workplace or an evening out.
MúzeumShop came up with numerous exclusive gifts specially made for the Hungarian National Gallery's Frida Kahlo exhibition. This unique Frida collection's plant and animal patterns, designed by Eduard Ballester, were inspired by Frida Kahlo's infatuation for nature. Frida's 'Casa Azul' (Blue House) in Coyoacan had an enchanting garden with uncountable species of plants. When the painter's health was deteriorating causing her to be bedridden for longer periods this garden was her consolation, her external world and the source of her artistic inspiration. This is where her 'naked' Xoloitzcuintle dogs, parrots, ducks and pet spider monkey, Fulang Chang lived. Mental and pyisicial pain and suffering wasn't her only subject - she portayed her love for nature and life with the same enthusiasm. The bustling, cheerful, vivid world of this collection may appeal to even those who find Frida's works ruthlessly honest and too gloomy.
