János György Szilágyi: In Search of Pelasgian Ancestors

A book about the 1861 Hungarian excavations in the Apennines by János György Szilágyi (1918-2016), who was one of the most famous Hungarian ancient researchers in the twentieth century. The excavators were soldiers serving in Italy with the Hungarian Legion, waiting in exile in southern Italy to re-light the flame of th 1849 War of Independence in their homeland. The book includes the catalogue of the collection and a chapter about the excavations too.
