A5 portrait paperback notebook with plain pages and a detail of a painting by János Vaszary on the cover. The elderly painter returned to Paris, the scene of his academic studies, on several occasions from the mid-1920s onwards and captured in stunningly vivid images the city's busy nightlife, accompanied by the flickering neon lights and the throb of jazz. A detail on the cover takes the viewer to the fountains of the 1937 Paris World's Fair, illuminated at night. Along with the figures in the foreground of the picture, we can also become immersed in the fountains of the Trocadero and discover the modern buildings of the national pavilions behind the water jets.

"In 1937, Vaszary once again travelled to the French capital, where he recorded his fresh observations. The sensational newly discovered painting, Paris Exposition Internationale shows a group of six men among the modern pavilions and spatially sculptured environment, as they marvel at the row of brilliantly lit fountains. The characterful motifs dashed off in a few brushstrokes, illustrate the clearcut elegance of modernism, softened and consolidated into the bourgeois lifestyle of the 1930s." Wall text, detail
