Egyptian Artefacts of the Museum of Fine Arts Budapest

The official catalogue of the Egyptian Artefacts of the Museum of Fine Arts Budapest. Today the Egyptian Collection consists of approximately 3300 objects, dating from Palaelithic to Christian times. The present catalogue is organised chronologically, reflecting the major divisions within Egyptian history, extending from the Predynastic to the Graeco-Roman periods. Many items included in the catalogue represent the collection's highlights: the group of 21th Dynasty coffins, the collection of Late Period bronze sculptures, the funerary artefacts excavated from the Ptolemaic cemetery of Gamhud, as well as individual masterpieces, such as the New Kingdom wooden statuette of a goddess, the 22nd Dynasty statue of Shoshenq, a 26th Dynasty bronze statuette of Imhotep, and a Late Period bronze stauette of a cat.
